John G. Rice was named Vice Chairman of GE and President and CEO of GE Industrial in July, 2005. The GE Industrial business segment includes Plastics, Silicones/Quartz, Consumer & Industrial, Security, Sensors, Automation, and Equipment Services.

Mr. Rice earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Hamilton College in Clinton, New York, and currently serves on the Board of Trustees there. In addition, he is a director of Emory Healthcare and a trustee of the Woodruf Arts Center, the Georgia Research Alliance, and the Walker School. He is a past chairman of the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce.
